Know your painter or artist......Go and meet them or look at there work online..Don't Listen to what you hear or what someone else tells you.......Believe in what you know and SEE....People don't always explain all the little things that make what goes into paint and artwork a success ....So take the time to do a little bit of investigating into who you are dealing with and who they are before getting any paint or Custom Paint work done !!!!!

On this page I will explain the paint processes and prices for BASIC and CUSTOM PAINT and ARTWORK
This is something that is different on every job and different for every customer. Through my 20 or so years of just doing custom (made in a different way from usual, specially to fit one's needs and or desires)paint work I have always had the Customer tell me He or She wants their paint to be a little different or wilder than the other persons. This calls for a lot of time designing, changing and making this paint be just for them, one of a kind !
There are a lot of variables in doing custom paint work. To most peoples surprise it is a process of many steps of painting and layering of paint. This type of paint work should not be compared to regular paint and body. It is a totally different process than that type of work. It requires time between every step of designing ,planning ,consulting with customer and every step of the paint process.
    Sometimes during these processes there are things that occur that are out of the artist or painter doing your works control. You as a customer might not understand this, but if you did your homework and checked out he artist and or painter you are dealing with you will feel comfortable with this delay.
  Some of the things that might cause more time and $$$$$$$$ are changes in design during the paint process, maybe the weather is bad and its to cold to paint  on certain days, or the humidity is to high, or the paint messed up or the artist and or painter made a mistake...Really as humans we do this to. There are unlimited variables in the CUSTOM PAINT world. Below I will explain some of these in the different processes

 BASIC PAINT:

Basic paintwork is pretty much anything that just needs Washing, Degreasing, Sanded and painted One BASIC COLOR . It normally goes like this:

a: The Customer and I Discuss what they are looking to get painted and basic Color.
b: Customer decides on color and He or She is given a time frame and a preliminary GUESSTIMATE.
c: Customer Discusses paint with spouse and says "Yeah She said OK"
d:Customer receives written estimate that they sign.
e: Customer pays 50% DEPOSIT and work begins.
* THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE: PAINT DEFECTS, BODY OR PANEL DEFECTS, CUSTOM COLORS, only  PREPWORK.

BASIC PRICES:

  1. A:  Average Bike
    Includes One piece or 2 piece Tank  one front fender and one back fender and 2 side covers.  
    $800.00 U.S. CASH, or credit card...(PLUS PAINT AND MATERIALS)
         Saddlebags add
    $250.00 U.S. CASH, or credit card..(PLUS PAINT AND MATERIALS)
         Front Faring add

CUSTOM PAINTWORK:
(made in a different way from usual, specially to fit one's needs and or desires)
Custom Paintwork is any paintwork that is created or reproduced by an artist and or painter for a customer on there preferred Canvas.(Cars,Bikes,Boats,Helmets,Canvas,
etc.etc.etc.
     A lot of custom work is just a combination of a couple( meaning 2) or maybe a lot of colors....some of which may take three to 4 processes of taping, spraying, sanding and respraying each ...add that up, that is 4 processes for each color that is 8 processes for just a 2 color job. Really Custom Finishes(See picture to the right and below) have some times 8 or 10 colors depending on the base colors for the Candy Colors  tattooand different effects under the Candy Colors. Multiply that times 8 and your really getting a custom job!!!All Custom Jobs are DIFFERENT from the others, that is what makes them and the owner unique to everyone else in the world.....Catch that (THE WORLD) now thats unique..that is one out of

ARTWORK


All Artwork is owned by CLASSIC AIR and GRAPHICS until at which time customer pays for the design charges incurred with said artwork.

Artwork can be created from your Company Logo or from some Idea you have in your head or have seen somewhere.......This is a very important part of a custom paint job cause YOU have to be happy with it for a long time....We also have to approve so We can be Proud to say We painted it. We do reserve the right to not copy any other artwork if we so desire, since this would not be a custom piece of artwork. We can take a idea or paint scheme you have seen and give it it's own identity with a little thought process from the customer.

  1. Artwork Prices are
       $55.00@hr. -this includes hand drawings, digital drawings, quick sketches , any part of the design process.

  2. Once the design process is agreed upon (with your signature of course)
    Any Changes made thereafter are added to the cost of the job at the rate of $55.00@hr


PAINT DEFECTS
Chips, Decals, Dents, Paint Flaws
 $55.00@hr.


BODY OR PANEL DEFECTS
Rust, Dents, Bent Panels, Little Knicks or scratches
$55.00@hr.

 

CUSTOM COLORS


Custom colors come in many different ways and combinations way to complex to totally explain here online....but I will give a few details and pics below
  Metallic's are base coats or Metallic Pearls sprayed over solid bases
  Candy Colors ( Transparent colors such as the red on a candy apple that you can see through) over metallic base colors. These can be mixed and manipulated for many Kool Effects.(See Picture to Right, Blue Candy over artwork)


Marbleizing, or Cob webbing or smoking  are great ways of getting great effects also. (See pic Below)
.
 Ghost Flames are and will always be a normal request in the Custom Paint field. Just be aware that you are paying for something you are only gonna see under certain light conditions..( THE NAME "GHOST" FLAMES )...If You can see them"it aint no ghost"

Pin striping is a kool way to dress up any Custom Paint job. In 20 years never had a customer who KNEW WHAT HE WANTED and didn't like what he had after striping.  Ole skool black is a new fad but got its roots from rednecks and pofolk who couldn't afford th paint to paint there hot rod or project.We do this today using a basecoat black and then using a fat clear to protect your paint.

 PREPWORK
Every job must be prepped for paint....that means it gets washed  and then wiped down with prep and then sanded and rewashed  and then painted and reprepped as many times as there are processes in the paint process being performed on the job.
The Paint Booth must be cleaned and spray guns cleaned in each of these processes also.
All Fenders are UNDERCOATED with Rubberized Undercoat
All Custom Paint Jobs are wet sanded and buffed  to a SHOW SHINE. if needed

DEPOSIT
Every Job Requires a 50% Deposit this is not negotiable ..........
This Deposit is Like the deposit you pay when you order any product that is CUSTOM.
It ensures coverage of the materials and expenses incurred while completing your job. In some cases jobs take a tremendously lot of time and money to complete and YOU THE CUSTOMER MAY BE ASKED TO MAKE PAYMENTS DURING THE PAINT PROCESS...IF SO YOU WILL BE TOLD THIS AT THE TIME OF YOUR ESTIMATE OR WHEN CHANGES TO THE ORIGINAL ESTIMATE ARE MADE.
